Hydroseeding

& Hydromulching

What Is Hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding is an efficient and cost-effective method of applying seed, water, fertiliser, and mulch in one spray application to promote fast, healthy vegetation growth. The mixture, known as a “slurry,” is sprayed evenly across prepared soil using a high-pressure hose or tank-mounted system.

This process is ideal for large areas and hard-to-reach sites, offering uniform coverage and faster germination compared to traditional hand-seeding or broadcast spreading methods.

What Is Hydromulching?

Hydromulching is similar to hydroseeding but uses a higher ratio of mulch and tackifiers (binders) in the mix to provide greater soil stabilisation. It’s often used in areas prone to erosion, steep slopes, or where vegetation growth is required under tougher environmental conditions.

The thicker mulch layer acts as a protective blanket over the soil, retaining moisture, reducing runoff, and helping seeds establish strong roots more quickly.

Why Do People, Companies & Businesses Use It?

Hydroseeding and hydromulching are widely used across residential, commercial, civil, and environmental projects due to their efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.

  • Homeowners use it to establish new lawns or repair damaged areas.

  • Councils and civil contractors use it for roadside revegetation, subdivisions, and erosion control.

  • Developers and builders apply it for site rehabilitation and compliance with environmental guidelines.

  • Farms and rural properties benefit from it when restoring pasture, dam walls, or sloped terrain.

Whether you're greening a paddock, stabilising soil, or meeting site revegetation requirements, this method saves time and delivers consistent results.

Benefits of Using Hydroseeding & Hydromulching

Fast Germination – Seeds stay moist and protected, encouraging quicker growth
Erosion Control – The mulch layer protects the soil from wind and water runoff
Even Coverage – Ideal for large or uneven areas without patchiness
Cost-Effective – More affordable than instant turf or hand-seeding labour
Custom Mixes – Choose seeds suited to your site, soil, and season
Environmentally Friendly – Promotes natural revegetation using non-invasive methods
Less Watering – Mulch retains moisture, reducing the need for daily irrigation
Slope-Friendly – Safely applied to hilly or hard-to-reach terrain
