Hydroseeding & Hydromulching FAQs
FAQs
Q: How long until I see grass?
Most customers start to see germination within 5–10 days, depending on seed type, weather, and watering.
Q: Can I hydroseed at any time of year?
It’s best done during spring or autumn when soil is warm and rainfall is more consistent. Summer is possible with good watering; winter may slow germination.
Q: Do I need to prepare the area before hydroseeding?
Yes, proper soil prep ensures better results. This includes clearing debris, leveling, and possibly applying topsoil or soil conditioners. We can help assess your site.
Q: Is it safe for pets and kids?
Yes. Once the slurry is dry (usually within a few hours), it’s safe. However, we recommend keeping pets and children off the area until the grass is established.
Q: Will it work on slopes or uneven land?
Absolutely. Hydromulching is especially effective on slopes or erosion-prone areas thanks to its tackifier and mulch content.
Q: Is hydroseeding better than laying turf?
It depends on your goals. Hydroseeding is more affordable, better for large or uneven spaces, and establishes a strong root system. Turf gives instant coverage but is more expensive and may require more maintenance up front.
Q: Can I choose what kind of seed is used?
Yes! We offer a range of grass, pasture, and native seed blends. Our team will recommend the best option based on your goals, site conditions, and season.
Q: How much does it cost?
Every site is different. Factors like access, slope, soil, size, and seed type affect pricing. Get in touch for a tailored quote.
